There are three buses a day from Gorran Haven Car Park about 7 minutes walk from us. Buses go to St. Austell bus station via Mevagissey and Heligan, and from there on to Newquay. The train station can be reached by bus in about 30 minutes, by car it’s 20 minutes. There is a connecting bus from the bus station to Eden.
Buses to Mevagissey, three miles from us, run every hour. There is a taxi service from Mevagissey to Gorran Haven, which we can book for you on request.
Arrival and Car parking.
The approach to us can be made from either end of a steep and narrow tarmac lane.
Our drive is also steep, and provides off road parking for 3 cars. There are bricks at the side of the drive to put in front of the wheels to provide extra security. We are normally around to assist with parking. Most people find no difficulty and don’t see parking as a problem, but people who live in areas like Norfolk, find it a challenge!
We are there to help with luggage when needed.
From the car to the bungalow, there are a few yards of tarmac drive to the top of two short flights of steps, with two hand rails at the side of one and a central rail on the other, and a white line marking the edge of each step. The first flight has 5 steps, the second 4, each step is 38cms wide and 18cms deep, and large enough to accommodate the whole of a size 14 shoe,- the shoe belongs to my husband!
At the bottom of the steps the front door, 81cms, wide is straight in front of you. There is a small step up of 5cms and a door lintel of 4cms and you are in the hall.
